Celebrating Families Reviews:

This book is an inspirational read, real families with real issues, yet easy and practical solutions. This book has inspired me to produce an “all about me” for my baby grandson. My daughter is finding it difficult to go back to work and leave Jake. I thought putting all his information down on this chart would make the transition easier and she would be happy knowing all Jake’s needs are met. She was thrilled with it and is about to go for her first interview.

I read Celebrating Families with my daughter, we enjoyed each chapter so much that none of us wanted to put it down, it was so interesting yet easy to read. It has inspired us both to think more about how we better include my ‘typical Kevin’ type teenage son in family life, with lots of ideas and tools to use when doing this.
The book is written in such a way that you can easily relate to the stories and share the emotions of the mums, dads, sons and daughters passion for family while sharing their experiences. It is a practical, easy to read book that is both heart warming and reassuring to the average dysfunctional family.
I would rate this book as an excellent read with great ideas to try out.

What a superb book full of inspiration for people and families of all ages, Colourful pictures and diagrams full of inspiring ideas showing how to connect with people in original ways, interesting from the start to the finish. One to keep that can be used over and over again.

I found this book a fascinating read. It was easy to read and connect with, and gave me so many ideas around communication within the family and ways to show your appreciation to each other. One of the stories’s that really touched me was in chapter 8 Connecting with the past. Helen’s dad Arthur had died when she was 21 and Helen realised there was no family record, tree or album to share with her children and Family. I my self have recently lost my partner and have a four year old little girl who is constantly asking about her daddy. Reading this story has inspired me to get together with my daughter and partners family to gather all of my partners passed and photo’s together to make a family tree, album and record so that he can be remembered and live on within us all. Another Story which inspired me was in chapter 3, appreciating each other. This story was about a boy called Jake who asked his mum Michelle to do a like and admire about him. I felt this was a fantastic way of showing appreciation to each other and a great way to work together. I have completed a like and admire both at home and with in my work. Both have been very successful and had a positive outcome. I recommend any one with a family to read this book.

I enjoyed this book much more than I thought I would. I have passed ideas on to my sister to try with her children. One idea I have borrowed is the 1 page profile which I did for my mum so that when she moves to a new day care facility I will feel happy that they know who my mum is, that she is more than her condition (Alzheimer’s).

It is the kind of book that you can dip in to and find something useful and uplifting. Well illustrated and easy to read.

This book should be on the must read list for every parent.
