I enjoy creating handmade items that matter to people, that are both useful and attractive – whether it is a small framed purse, ornament, soft toy or a fabric journal.
I have eclectic craft interests including hand and machine embroidery, appliqué, drawing little pictures, felting, knitting and crochet - interests developed from childhood when she was encouraged to sew, bake and make things for local events and competitions. I tend to use cotton, velvet, wool and satin fabrics in bright, ‘squishy’ and ‘ice-cream’ colours and draw ideas from shopping trends, paintings and European craft magazines. I will often buy fabric, ribbons, buttons and yarn before I know what to do with them!
I welcome projects where i can learn something new and different and share my learning.
